From the strong centering force of the potters wheel, to the zen art of glazing, it's my goal to bring the joy I feel as a maker, directly to you, packed tight in every particle of clay! I make sure my pots to feel good to the touch, function well for daily use, and are uniquely beautiful works of art, top to bottom, inside and out. A multitude of techniques are employed from start to finish, and ultimately I fire my work to cone 6 in my electric kiln.
Clay and I are old friends. I first started handbuilding and throwing as a teenager, and quickly fell in love with the medium. I then studied Ceramics and Metalsmithing while recieving a foundation in Fine Arts at Maine College of Art at the turn of the century.
I create all of my work by hand in my newly built studio, just ten paces from my backdoor, with my plants, gardens, two cats, two dogs, two teenagers and husband nearby!
